You are an omnipotent but distracted hand of nature.

Shape plant genetics in the lab, then release them into the city.
Watch as life reclaims concrete and steel — until fire resets all.

This game was put together for the Just Vibe It game jam, which had the twin themes Cycle and Overgrown.

The game as a result explores multiple interlocked cycles: 

  • the cycle of life, as plants grow, wither, compete and thrive
  • the cycle of the seasons
  • the cycle of urban decay and renewal (by fire!)
  • the game cycle  of Shape, Release, Witness, Remember, Evolve
  • the player's own emotional cycle as these interlocked systems invoke curiousity, hope, expectation, uncertainty and the emotions fed by the final reckoning

These cycles are visually represented by the player's verdant creations overrunning the urban landscape, and the gameplay arc is whether those creations survive and thrive.
